In the master's program “Decentralized Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency,” you will design the energy solutions that the energy system of the future needs. You will learn how to plan decentralized systems efficiently and economically for a secure, sustainable, and affordable energy future. Our program is based on two strong pillars: technical expertise and economic feasibility. With this knowledge, you will be able to reliably plan and implement innovative, decentralized energy systems.
The combination of power and microelectronic systems is the key to a range of future technologies in the field of electromobility, as well as in the field of renewable energies and other technologies for the energy transition. We will first present the study program and then the highlight of our degree program—the project internship—using a practical example.

Mechatronics bridges the disciplines of mechanical engineering, computer science, and electrical engineering. The master's program is therefore interdisciplinary and demonstrates, among other things, how automation technology is used in mechatronic systems, but also offers the opportunity to set your own priorities thanks to the wide range of options available. Employment opportunities exist in mechanical engineering, the automotive industry, medical technology, and other high-tech sectors. Admission requirements include a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline such as mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or industrial engineering.
