For help with your literature search, contact the Service Desk, attend one of our database courses or arrange an individual research consultation. Our online course provides you with tips, strategies and tools for efficient and successful research.

EDDI

The Discovery System EDDI enables you to find books, e-books, journals and e-journals, including the articles they contain.

If you want to borrow books with the location "Stack / Magazine", contact the staff at the Service Desk and indicate the shelf marks of the desired titles. During the opening hours of the Service Desk, the books will be immediately retrieved from the stacks.

Library Catalogue

In the library catalogue you can find books and e-books as well as the titles of journals and e-journals. The articles contained in these journals cannot be found in the library catalogue: please use the EDDI Discovery System.

Databases

The University Library offers access to a number of academic databases via the database information system (DBIS). You can find the databases that we subscribe to and which can be accessed on campus as well as those freely accessible on the internet. The databases are sorted by subject area.

Tip: We also offer courses on how to efficiently use databases!

German Union Catalogue of Serials (ZDB)

The German Union Catalogue of Serials contains newspapers from over 4,400 libraries in Germany and Austria and will tell you which library has the title you are looking for.

Please note: you won't be able to find journal articles here!

Electronic Journals Library (EZB)

Electronic Journal Library (EZB) provides full-text access to academic journals online. These journals are offered alongside freely accessible titles in a uniform interface. Accessibility of a full-text article is shown in a "traffic light system": green = freely accessible, yellow = only accessible if you are a member of Reutlingen University, red = no direct access.

Please note: Journal articles are not searchable in the EZB. In order to find individual articles, you must know in which journal the desired article first appeared.

Technical Standards

Perinorm is a database with details about standards, technical rules, German technical regulations and current European Union regulations. You can find full German standards and information about foreign standards. The standards can be downloaded and printed.

With the VDE-NormenBibliothek (VDE Standards Library), you can directly access all VDE regulations, including drafts as well as withdrawn und historical VDE regulations. VDE standards can not be dowloaded nor printed out, but can be read online.

For access to both databases from off-campus, you must be logged into the campus network via VPN.
