Students

The standard loan period is four weeks with the option of three renewals, provided that no reservation has been made. If a medium has been reserved, the loan cannot be renewed.

It is possible to borrow reference copies from 12 noon on the first day until 12 noon on the following day, or from 12 noon on Friday until 12 noon on Monday.

The loan period for interlibrary loans is generally four weeks. A renewal is not possible.

The loan period for electronic devices is usually 10 days. A renewal is not possible. Please be aware that the loan of electronic devices is only possible for members of Reutlingen University.

There is no loan period for e-books, e-journals and content from subject databases. These are available in the campus network at any time. Members of Reutlingen University can also access these services from home via VPN.

Journal issues, journal volumes and newspapers are not avaible for loan. They can only be used onsite in the learning centre.

University Personnel and Lecturers

The standard loan period is four weeks. This period is automatically extended up to twelve times if the borrowed medium is not reserved. Reservations override the automatic extension. Reserved media must be returned at the end of the loan period.

The loan period for reference copies is four weeks. A renewal is not possible.

The loan period for electronic devices is generally ten days. A renewal is not possible.

Tip: Every full-time lecturer has the possibility to borrow up to 20 volumes as permanent loans. The prerequisite for this is that at least two copies of each of the desired titles remain available in the library. Unfortunately, no such arrangement can be made for assistant lecturers.
