Starting your degree
Going to study at a university in another country can be quite difficult at the beginning. But don't worry - our services will help you to find your way around and to quickly make new friends.
staRT WeeksIn the wo weeks before the semester begins, the “staRT weeks” take place. Participation is voluntary, but these offer new students the opportunity to prepare themselves for their studies. A variety of different courses will help to bridge any gaps in their knowledge as well as meet other freshers - known as "Erstis" in Germany. Of course, there will also be lots of events on offer especially for our international students!

Even before the semester begins, you can take part in our intensive courses "Business German" or "German language and culture" which, in addition to language tuition, offer a diverse accompanying programme and make it easier for students to enter the world of higher education.
The "Zentrale Studienberatung (ZSB)" (Central Study Advisory Service) supports you in all questions related to your studies, regardless of whether you need further information on the study programme, examination regulations or your day-to-day matters at the university.
