Process Analysis

Centre of Excellence

Our goal

is to apply optical spectroscopy as an “all in one sensor” for smart processing and a 100% quality control.

Our strategy

Is to design samples which represent the entire production process, analyse morphological and chemical variations by optical spectroscopy, select the fundamental properties by chemometrics and integrate prototypes for a feedback and feedforward control in industry.

Our mission

is to support industry in producing materials and products with well defined and tailor made functionalities.

Our Toolbox

includes optical spectroscopy (UV / Vis, NIR, FTIR, Raman and 3D-Flourescence), nanoscopy by SPM and near field spectroscopy, microscopy, spectroscopic imaging and mapping techniques even on the nanoscale, multivariate data analysis and neural networks, process design and experimental design.

Chemical Imaging

Chemical Imaging (CI) combines different technologies like optical microscopy, digital imaging and molecularspectroscopy in combination with multivariate data analysis methods. CI systems can be classified in Whiskbroom- (mapping), Staring- (2D-wavelength scanning) and Pushbroom- (line scanning with spectral dispersion) imagers. The concept can be applied over a wide spectroscopic range from UV-Vis-NIR, flourescence, IR and Raman.
