Reutlingen

Known as one of the booming regions of Germany, Baden-Württemberg with its capital Stuttgart and the Reutlingen / Tübingen Science and Technology Park lies in the southwest corner of Germany. It is home to some of the world's top names in industrial production, including machinery, automobiles, electrical equipment, chemicals and textiles, in addition to modern biotechnology, engineering and chemical research.
Today Reutlingen is an established centre of industry and commerce with 100,000 inhabitants, eager to keep abreast of all the latest developments. The library and museums with their modern architecture, a busy shopping precinct and arcades, the weekly market, cafés, restaurants and bistros catering for all tastes, are all places where one can relax and meet friendly people. Events, music, cinema and theatres can all be found together in the so-called 'cultural mile' in the town centre.
Reutlingen lies between the two hills Georgenberg and Achalm at the foot of the Swabian Alb, a superb area for walking, biking and hiking. This beautiful region offers the visitor castles, stately homes and baroque abbeys, rivers and waterfalls. Popular tourist areas such as the Black Forest near the border with France, and Lake Constance bordering Switzerland and Austria, are close by. The Alps are a wonderful destination in both summer and winter. The scenery in all these areas is particularly delightful.
