Language Courses and workshops offered by RIO/IfF in Summer Semester 2012

The Foreign Languages Institute (IfF) offers  courses in the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German as a foreign language, Italian, Russian and Spanish.

In Summer Semester 2012 these courses begin on March 12th and run for 15 weeks, until the end of the first week in July. The language examinations will take place in the week commencing July 2nd. Most courses take place once per week for one double session (90 minutes). These courses carry two ECTS credits. Courses which take place twice per week carry four credits.

Courses in German as a Foreign Language are offered at all levels from beginners to advanced, and English from intermediate to advanced.

The other languages offered are at beginners' level. In these courses background information, explanations of grammatical rules etc are provided in German. Students with little or no knowledge of German should bear this fact in mind when registering for a beginners' course in Arabic, Chinese, French, Italian, Russian or Spanish.

International students are generally permitted to take one course in German as a Foreign Language and one course in another language, as well as workshops. You should discuss the details with your home university or with your coordinator in Reutlingen.
