Residence Permit

After registering with the Bürgeramt, non-EU students will also have to go to the Foreigners' Office (Ausländeramt) in Reutlingen City Hall (Rathaus) to apply for a residence permit (Aufenthaltsgenehmigung).

You will need to fill out an official city form and bring with you the following documents:

• your valid passport (with entry visa if necessary) or your identity card, which must be valid for the entire period to be spent in Germany
• a passport-size photo
• proof of valid health insurance
• a proof-of-income document, confirming that you are able to finance the whole of your study period in Reutlingen (Finanzierungsnachweis)
• a certificate of acceptance  at Reutlingen University (Zulassungsbescheid)
• If you are a scholarship holder, you should bring the original certificates with you.
